Our livestock mentors working at Alfred Nzo, Fritz Labuscagne and Gary Ewers, have arrived back at base with some shocking news. They have come across a condition across a very serious non-contagious, tick-borne disease of ruminants, called Heart-Water, for the very first time in this area. Heart-water is mainly common in untreated or incorrectly treated livestock.

Below is an up close image of the creature: big trouble can come in small packages

This condition is regularly controlled through treatment done by our mentors, in places where it is common or endemic to farmers and government workers. If the disease spreads into an area where farmers and government workers are not aware of the disease, treatment or cost of it, there is potentially a great threat.
